Our family tends 30 acres of hazelnuts and 20 acres of USDA Certified Organic hemp in Oregon's Willamette Valley. From the orchard to our certified organic processing facility, Mellow Moose is work we share.

Four generations have helped shape this farm in Oregon's Willamette Valley. What began as a dairy continues with hazelnuts, hemp and a familiar mix of resourcefulness, hard work and learning as we go.
We have grown hazelnuts since 2016, and our first hemp crop followed in 2018. Growing and drying led to an extraction lab and Hive Processing, where we supply cannabinoid ingredients to other makers. Mellow Moose grew from that shared work, bringing our own formulas directly to customers.

Care for the farm reaches beyond the fields.
Our hemp fields and processing facility are USDA Certified Organic. For us, working with a plant starts with respecting how it is grown and processed: water-only extraction for our CBD and CBG isolates, and organic, food-grade cane alcohol for our full-spectrum extracts.
We work with our local Santiam watershed organization to restore native plants along the creek and surrounding habitat, including shade-giving plants intended to help keep the water cooler for the creatures that live there.
On a farm approaching 90 years old, reusing, repairing and repurposing are everyday habits. Conservation and regeneration matter to us, in the fields and along the creek.

Good products take more than one kind of know-how. Our team brings together generations of agricultural experience with extraction and formulation, equipment care, compliance and certification, and customer support.
Some days that means tending the fields; others, refining an ingredient, checking a batch record or helping a customer work through a recipe. We share the work and take pride in being people you can actually reach when you have a question.
OUR CBD + CBG · A DIFFERENT KIND OF EXTRACTION
A stainless steel tank.
A little farm ingenuity.
Our water-only extraction process makes the CBD and CBG isolates behind many of our formulas. For our CBD isolate, crystals form in filtered water inside a 400-gallon stainless steel tank fitted with an overhead mixer.
It is the kind of tank familiar from dairy work, adapted to a different job. We collect, wash, dry and refine the crystals before they become an ingredient in a Mellow Moose formula.
Our full-spectrum extracts use organic, food-grade cane alcohol. The TruCBN in SLEEP comes from our friends at FloraWorks in Oregon.
The people do the work.
We grow, harvest, dry, extract and process our hemp on the farm, and we make and bottle our own products. From the growing season to the finished label, this is work our family shares.
Start with the growing season
We have sourced all our hemp seed from OregonCBD since our first crop. Their genetics have served us well in Oregon's short, unpredictable growing season.
We start the plants in our greenhouse, move them into the fields in early summer and tend them under USDA Organic certification.
Bring in the harvest
October brings harvest, with neighbors and family friends pitching in. We harvest and dry the hemp before it moves into processing.
Make our CBD + CBG isolates
Our patented water-based extraction produces the CBD and CBG isolates we use in our formulas and supply to other makers.
Build the formula
We make and bottle our own formulas. For CALM, our CBD isolate meets organic MCT oil. Other formulas start with different cannabinoid profiles.
Finish each bottle by hand
Our family fills, labels and seals the bottles by hand. We package the finished formulas and get orders ready to ship.

Check the cannabinoid amounts and units. A bottle total and a 1 mL label serving are different things.

How to read a COA

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a laboratory report for a specific batch. Here is how our CALM bottle sticker connects to the cannabinoid results on its report.

01 · Match the batch first
Find BATCH # TD1D26 on the sticker on the back of the bottle. The same code appears under the product name as Harvest Process Lot on this COA, and again as Batch# near the top right. Use the code on your own bottle when looking up results.
02 · Check what “serving” means
This report uses “1 Serving = 28.5g” and “1 servings/container,” so its 2,877.93 mg/serving figure represents the whole container. Our label serving is 1 mL. It is not 2,877.93 mg in a single dropper.
The 28.5 g is the mass of the bottle’s contents represented by the report, not the glass bottle. The table shows 100.98 mg CBD per gram: 100.98 × 28.5 = 2,877.93 mg. Grams measure mass; mL measure volume.
03 · Read the cannabinoid rows
The CBD row gives the amount measured. THC and CBG are shown as <LOQ on this batch: below the laboratory’s limit of quantification, not a measured zero. Results belong to this lot, so another formula or batch can have different numbers.
